Hello, my name is Ms. Pierson! I graduated from the University of Delaware this May (2016) with a major in Elementary Education and a concentration in Middle School Science. This will be my first year at Lake Forest Elementary School!
Background
I was born in Binghamton, New York. I have one sister who is seven years older than me. After I was born, my family moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. We lived there for a few years and then we moved to Camden, Delaware when I was six-years-old. I recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia this June.
Throughout high school, I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in education. I have always had a huge passion for learning, especially in the subject of science, and I have always had a huge passion for helping others. I believe that helping students learn and achieve success both inside and outside of the classroom is the most rewarding and challenging job available.

Interests
I love to create things! I spend a lot of my time painting with watercolors. I love to experiment with new techniques and supplies. I also spend a lot of my time taking photos and editing them. I have had an interest in digital and film photography since high school. Macro, black and white, nature, and landscape photography are some of my favorite styles. In addition to crafting and trying to be artsy, I also love to cook, read, and run! I am definitely not the best cook but that does not stop me from trying new things. Since I am a vegetarian, I am always looking for new recipes! A lot of people hate running, but not me. I ran cross-country all through middle school and for a few years in high school. Running helps me to relax and de-stress. Reading is another one of my interests, nothing beats the smell of a new book! I love to read fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
